Worth the money May 26, 2008
For a fairly cheap distortion unit this pedal hits a homerun. There are endless tones you can get from this stomp box from old school metal to heavy death metal. This thing nails the classic crunch of early Metallica and the bonecrushing heaviness of Dethklok as well as everywhere in between. For me it was between this and THe Boss Metal Zone and I went with this obviously. The distortion isn's as natural as a pure metal tube amp, but it emulates great sounds. Whether you want it for more tinal options or to pump up you average solid state amp like me, this will do the trick.

i'd like to start out by saying i ordered this pedal from geartree on stadard shipping, and it came in 3 days and i think it's slightly cheaper than the rest also. now ot the pedal. it's very easy to set up, it's set alreay when you get it and it comes with a battery also so you don't need a AC adapter immediatly, but if you try you probably could find one that fits somewhere around your house like i did. the pedal is very durable i was playing and repeatly turning the pedal on and off and it had no problems as i did so. it has a more old school type distortion to a very modern heavy distortion. then if you want you can give it more bite with the hi frequencey nob and more thump with the low. apart from tons of praise i heard of the digitech brand their online site really sold me on it cuz it's the only company i found with online samples on their site. http://www.digitech.com/products/xseriesflash/MetalMaster.html is the one for this specific pedal. anyway this is a awesome pedal and a great addition for anyone personally i use this pedal for my band now it's also fun to mess around with.

the metal master has the sound for every metal head in the world, you can play hardcore to death metal also grindcore; you will be very satisfied with this item, i recomend for stage to practice, it's has it all!, cheers!
