4awesome little guitar  Sep 30, 2008
The guitar was for my niece's 7th birthday...she is petite, so it's perfect in size. She wants to learn guitar and has scheduled lessons. I play guitar myself, and it tuned well. I think it's a wonderful starter instrument for a small child just getting started. She loves pink and fairies too, so that makes it more exciting. My only complaint would be that there was small defect on the front of the guitar and also, was disappointed to get a black carrying bag instead of a pink one as the description mentions.

4Girly Guitars  May 15, 2008
I gave this to my 8 year old for her Birthday. It is still a little big for her but she loves it. As someone else mentioned it does not come w/a pink case . . . the case is black. But at least it has a case, most of the others I looked at did not. I am very pleased with the purchase.

3My (daughter's) first guitar  Dec 28, 2007
We purchased this guitar for our 5 year old daughter's first foray into guitar playing. The problem we ran into was this: you either buy a 30 dollar piece of junk, or a $350, serious guitar. Since she's 5, we were on the lookout for something in the middle of the range. Luna is apparently a company that makes guitars only for girls, and so we gave them a whirl. The guitar is OK- doesn't have great sound, but it is tunable and her guitar teacher can play it and make it sound pretty good. It's mainly plastic- not a lot of wood, if any. Bear in mind, this is a "my first" type of instrument that won't break the bank and will last long enough to see if your little rocker will hang in there with the lessons. The fairy is cute- a totally girly guitar, without a doubt! Just not an heirloom, by any stretch. We'll probably upgrade her in about a year.

4My kids love it  Aug 31, 2007
I bought this guitar for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I'm sure someone is reading this and thinking to themselves why pay 70 bucks for a guitar for a 3-year-old? I asked myself the same question, and the answers I came up with are:

1. Because she wanted a guitar.
2. Because she loves music, and though she may not be ready for lessons NOW, it's a great time to foster her interest in it.
3. Because I don't want her (and her 2-year-old brother) playing with my $1000 guitar.
4. Because it's an instrument, not a toy.
5. Because it is put together well enough to last for a while.
6. Because it's pink and girly with a fairy on it!
7. Did I mention she wanted a guitar?

The Luna Aurora isn't a high-dollar artist series or professional guitar. The tuners aren't the best, but it's fun to play and has a decent sound... much better than other guitars of the same type/size on the market. I'm sure it will be around considerably longer than would a $25 toy guitar from a discount store.

I'd seen photos (elsewhere) of this guitar with a pink gig bag, but the bag that comes with it is actually black.

Bottom line - I'm happy with the purchase, and my daughter LOVES it.
