4Solid guitar at a great price  Jul 18, 2008
I recently purchased this guitar (in black with abalone rosette) and I am extremely pleased with it. I spent a lot of time at my local music shop and asking around town to make sure that this was the guitar I wanted. It was my first guitar, but I wanted something that I could grow with while also not breaking the bank. Some key information I found out is:

Though this guitar has a plastic back, the top is SOLID wood (not laminated) and has great sound. I believe the material is spruce.

This guitar WILL become more subtle with age, as any traditional guitar will with time.

The electronics are excellent and I have not experienced feedback, even when sitting mere feet from, and facing, the amp.

It holds an excellent tune for a long period of time, even straight home from the store.

The built in tuner works well and I checked it against an external tuner I purchased previously and found the built in tuner to be quite accurate.

At first I felt that the sound was a bit on the treble-y side, but when I got it home and put it through it's paces I found it to have a warm, balanced sound. When played through the amp the volume, bass, mid and treble can all be adjusted with slider bars as well as presets for EQ shift.

All in all I am extremely pleased with the sound and quality of this guitar as well as the promise of having it for many, many years to come. I highly recommend this guitar for all levels if it is in your price range, but is a great first guitar for beginners/intermediates.
